Kolkata, Nov 21: The Airport Advisory Committee of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI), Kolkata, met on November 20 to review traffic growth, ongoing infrastructure upgrades and future development plans, with committee chair and Lok Sabha MP Prof.

The meeting, convened by Airport Director Vikram Singh, brought together representatives from municipalities, the state police, district administration, airport security agencies, airline and travel associations, as well as other nominated members.

Officials discussed current bottlenecks, upcoming projects and measures to streamline passenger movement and airside operations.

Singh gave a detailed presentation on rising passenger and aircraft traffic at NSCBI Airport, outlining initiatives for capacity augmentation, infrastructure enhancement and improved passenger amenities.

He highlighted plans aimed at boosting operational efficiency and enhancing overall traveller experience at the Kolkata airport.

Prof. Roy welcomed the efforts of the airport management and underlined the need for close coordination among all stakeholder agencies to address operational challenges swiftly and improve passenger facilitation.

He said he would extend full support to resolve issues linked to airport operations and development.

The meeting concluded with members reiterating their commitment to sustained development of NSCBI Airport and to ensuring safe, seamless and efficient operations for passengers and airlines.
