Special DG lauds efforts to curb trans-border crimes along Indo-Bangladesh border

Guwahati, Nov 13 : Special director general of the Border Security Force (BSF) Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal on Wednesday reviewed the security scenario and operational preparedness along the India-Bangladesh international border under the jurisdiction of BSF Guwahati Frontier during his two-day visit.

Aggarwal was briefed by inspector general of BSF Guwahati Frontier Sukhdev Raj and senior staff officers on measures taken to combat various challenges on the Indo-Bangladesh border and on steps initiated to control trans-border crimes, an official release said.

He interacted with all field commanders through video conference, took stock of the ground situation and discussed remedies to further strengthen border domination and crime control mechanisms.

The special DG, according to the release, applauded the tireless efforts and dedication of BSF personnel in safeguarding the border and acknowledged the initiatives taken by BSF Guwahati Frontier to curb crimes along the international boundary.

“The SDG reiterated the BSF’s commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the nation, particularly in light of the challenges arising from the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh,” stated an official release issued by BSF Guwahati Frontier PRO.

He also urged all personnel to remain vigilant and continue their exemplary work in maintaining the integrity of the Indo-Bangladesh international border, the release added.
