Lekhapani (Assam), Oct 20 : Security and intelligence agencies have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening joint operations against proscribed insurgent groups across Nagaland, South Arunachal Pradesh and Assam following an Operational Group meeting held at Lekhapani on Saturday.
The meeting, attended by civil and military authorities, reviewed the prevailing security situation and measures to improve coordination among forces in the insurgency-affected areas.
Amid the recent extension of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) in parts of the region, the participants discussed strategies to enhance jointness and ensure cohesive action against militant activities.
During the deliberations, the Deputy Inspector General of the Assam Rifles emphasised maintaining high vigilance and coordinated responses among all security stakeholders to prevent any untoward incidents.
The session concluded with a reaffirmation of the collective resolve to strengthen intelligence sharing, sustain seamless coordination and undertake proactive measures aimed at ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region.
