Central Bank of India disburses ₹31 crore to Kamrup rural beneficiaries

Mirza (Kamrup), Nov 14 : Central Bank of India has disbursed loans worth ₹31 crore to beneficiaries of Kamrup rural as part of its all-India Agri Disbursement Campaign aimed at expanding agricultural credit and promoting rural development.

The Barpeta Road Region organised a special disbursement camp at Hotel Orchid Palace, Mirza on Friday.

The event was attended by chief guest Rashmi Baruah Gogoi, ACS, Co-District Commissioner, Palashbari, who appreciated the bank’s continued initiatives to support farmers and strengthen rural livelihoods.

Senior officials present at the programme included Anil Kumar, zonal head, Guwahati; Sudip Kumar, regional head, Barpeta Road Region; Anil Das, social worker and customer; and Mithlesh Kumar, chief manager, regional office, Barpeta Road.

Sanction letters and loan disbursements were provided to 350 groups during the campaign. Officials said in an official statement that the initiative focused on empowering women beneficiaries, supporting self-help groups, promoting sustainable livelihood activities, and enhancing credit access in the agricultural sector.

The dignitaries highlighted the bank’s commitment to improving rural credit delivery systems and ensuring financial inclusion.

They said, “Central Bank of India will continue its mission of serving farmers, entrepreneurs, and rural households with renewed energy and dedication,” in an official communication shared during the event.
