Pushpa 2: Authorities enforce cinema regulations, impacting over 100 screenings statewide
Begnaluru, Dec 4: In an unexpected turn of events, fans eagerly anticipating the early morning screenings of Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2: The Rule” in Bengaluru are met with disappointment.
Authorities have canceled all shows scheduled between midnight and 6:30 am on December 5, 2024, citing violations of the Karnataka Cinema Regulations Act. This decision affects over 100 planned screenings across the state, leaving many fans to adjust their viewing plans.
The Karnataka Cinema Regulations Act mandates that no film screenings occur before 6:30 am. The cancellation follows complaints from the Kannada Film Producers Association regarding unauthorized early screenings and ticket pricing issues. The Deputy Commissioner has directed the cessation of such screenings and initiated legal actions against violators under Rule 41 of the Act.
Harish Arasu, the Public Relations Officer for “Pushpa 2” in Karnataka, informed audiences that shows scheduled between midnight and 6:30 am are cancelled, while screenings post-6:30 am will proceed as planned. Affected ticket holders can either seek refunds or attend the next available showing.
“Pushpa 2: The Rule,” directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, is set to release on December 5, 2024. Despite the cancellations, the film is expected to have a significant release across Karnataka within the permissible screening hours.
