Special Aircraft Built By HAL For Arunachal Will Be Operational Soon: Khandu

Two special aircraft built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for Arunachal Pradesh will fly soon in the state to bridge the gap of air connectivity, said Chief Minister Pema Khandu addressing a public meeting at Bameng in East Kameng district on Thursday.

Acknowledging the challenges, Khandu informed that the state government held a meeting with the officials of the HAL and Ministry of Civil Aviation regarding the improvement of air connectivity in the state.

HAL has already built two special aircrafts for Arunachal Pradesh which will be flying in all six Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs), he added.

It was also informed that to boost air connectivity, the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi will be completed by 2022 next.

“We cannot wait for the completion of Hollongi Airport, so the expert team of HAL and Ministry of Civil Aviation are studying the technical issues of all the Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) as well as the construction of terminals are also going on in the ALGs.

As soon as the construction gets completed within two or three months, the flight service will be started in all the ALGs,” Khandu said.
