MIZORAM: BIG DRUG HAUL SEIZED BY AR
DESK: Troops of Assam Rifles, Aizawl Battalion recovered a massive quantity of Methamphetamine tablets from a drug mafia in the Champhai district in Mizoram, on 6th August.
The operation was done with the help of personnel of the Narcotics department.
In a press statement, the Assam Rifles said that the estimated market value of the drug is worth approximately 10.5 crores.

A drug peddler, resident of Tahan in neighboring Myanmar was arrested during the operation, and the tablets recovered were handed over to Mizoram Police for further investigations.
This is not the first time, but the illegal drug trades is a major issue for the state.
The methamphetamine tablet is a highly addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system.
According to Border Security Force, Assam Rifles, and Intelligence officials, these tablets and drugs are smuggled into the northeastern states from neighboring Myanmar and smuggled to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and various states of India.
