A 20-year-old youth, addicted to drugs, killed his elder brother in a fit of rage at Kushal Nagar in Bamunimaidam area this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kamal Das (22).
According to reports, the younger brother, identified as Jintu Das (20) hit his elder brother, Kamal Das with a rod when the latter was asleep killing him instantaneously.
The duo reportedly had a fight during the day as Jintu tried to sell a cylinder from the house in order to buy drugs.
Meanwhile, Chandmari police reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Jintu is absconding and the police is trying to nab him.
