The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has cancelled the services of a total of 5 express trains in view of the cyclone Jawad.

The NF Railway has informed about the cancellation of the trains on its Twitter handle.

The NF Railway informed that the service of Silchar-Thiruvanthapuram Central 12580 Express, which was scheduled to commence its journey on December 2, 2021, has been cancelled.

The service of Bangalore Cantt.-Guwahati 12509 Express, scheduled to start journey on December 2, 2021 has also been cancelled. The service of Kamakhya-Puri 12644 Express, scheduled to start journey on December 4, 2021, has also been cancelled.

The Cyclone Jawad is set to approach north Andhra Pradesh – Odisha coasts around Saturday morning and turn north-eastward to track over east and northeast India through early next week.

It is still too early to forecast the exact track and potential landfall area. However, the greatest impact would be in terms of heavy rains and localised flooding than winds across the eastern and north-eastern states.
