Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed happiness for accident-free new year eve celebrations in Guwahati.
Taking to the microblogging site twitter, the Chief Minister said he was on the streets of Guwahati on December 31st night and was humbled to see the overwhelming response to government’s appeal to make 31st December an accident-free night.
He also congratulated the Guwahati Police for doing their best.
He further appealed to the people to continue the efforts to make each day and every night of 2022 accident free.

It may be noted that the Chief Minister on December 27 said that as road mishaps claimed over 2,750 lives up to November 30 in Assam, and urged people to usher in an accident-free New Year by driving carefully, obeying traffic rules, avoiding drunken driving & over-speeding, wearing helmets & seat belts, etc.
