Dibrugarh Police led by DSP (HQ) along with officer in charge of Dibrugarh Police station, conducted a raid in the rented house of Deep Doley in ‘J’ line, Kankan Nagar under Milan Nagar Police Out Post at about 7 pm on Friday and apprehended the three persons.

The Officer in charge of Dibrugarh police station Bularam Terang said, “After getting a tip off regarding the presence of the youths in the rented house and involved in drug peddling we raided the house and arrested three of them”.

Sources said the peddlers procured the drugs from the agents and sell them. They also consumed the drugs and mostly target young students for peddling. “It has been running in a very organised way in Assam. Dibrugarh is the hub of drugs trade.

The whole supply chain has been going on in from Dibrugarh by notorious drug smugglers.

Most of them have been arrested under NDPS act but some of them are out on bail and secretly running the racket with the help of some agents,” said a source.
